OUT NOW our preprint titled “Protease-mediated processing of Argonaute proteins controls small RNA association”

Small RNA pathways protect animals’ germline from harmful genetic elements and maintain genomic integrity. However, controlling their activity is important to avoid silencing of ‘self’ genes. Here, we reveal a proteolytic mechanism that controls endogenous small interfering RNA activity in the C. elegans germline to protect genome integrity and maintain fertility.
